I fall softly

to begin again

I feel the string line under me

with ties so tight

my thoughts can't find my breath

tugging the mattress

like lonely clay

As I wear the day over my eyes

My humanness drags and thickens

stones in my bones

empty echos and slow jerks

I used sound like marshmallows

licking the sheets of my thoughts

to fall into rest

with words and prayers

from the vault of my childhood
